Admission regulations

1. Ordinary Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery (3-Year Program)

Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) passes in non-religious subjects.

Must have a minimum of “D” grade in the following:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics or Engineering Sciences
  • A pass in English Language is compulsory.
  • A pass in Basic Mathematics is an added advantage.

Program Overview

This course prepares competent nurses and midwives who can provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care in both community and hospital settings.

Special Considerations

  • Candidates with an NTA Level 4 certificate in a related health field may be considered for admission with credit transfer (subject to NACTE regulations).
  • Applicants with Form VI qualifications or equivalent may be eligible for exemption from certain modules.

2. Ordinary Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences (3-Year Program)

Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) passes in non-religious subjects.

Must have a minimum of “D” grade in:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • A pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is highly recommended.

Program Overview

This program trains students to become skilled pharmacy technicians capable of supporting the safe, effective, and rational use of medicines in various healthcare settings.

Special Considerations

  • Holders of Technician Certificate (NTA Level 5) in a related field may qualify for admission into advanced stages of the program.

📄 Required Application Documents

When applying for admission, candidates must submit:

  1. Completed application form (online or paper-based).
  2. One recent passport-size photograph (Attached in the application form via online)
  3. Application fee payment receipt.

 

📅 Application Process & Timeline

  1. Application Period – Applications are open twice a year, typically in March–May (for the September intake) and September–November (for the March intake).
  2. Submission – All applications should be submitted through the Admissions Office or via our official online application portal.
  3. Screening & Selection – The Admissions Committee will evaluate all applications against the minimum entry requirements and available capacity.
  4. Notification – Successful applicants will receive an admission letter with joining instructions, fee structure, and reporting dates.

 

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission; selection is competitive and depends on the availability of spaces.
  • All admitted students must undergo a medical fitness assessment before registration.
  • Fees are payable at the beginning of each academic year or in approved installments.
  • Foreign applicants must provide an equivalence certification from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
